Great article on local icon Winnie Eddins

I am just writing to let you know how much I enjoyed the article in Sunday’s Star-Exponent featuring Winnie Eddins (“Culpeper’s fountain of youth”).

I believe the first time I met him was during the fall of 2002. My wife, Pam, and I were serving lunch on a Habitat for Humanity building site. Winnie was in his 80s then — oh, by the way, he was up on a ladder at the time!

Last year we talked after church one Sunday and he mentioned that he had been on the golf course as part of a threesome and he was the youngest guy in the group. If I remember right, Winnie had been playing that day with his two older brothers.

Winnie is a wonderful guy, a joy to be with, and a treasure in our community. Thanks for the wonderful feature.
