Just what we need: more bureaucracy

» 34 Comments | Post a Comment

I can’t say it any better myself, so I won’t. Just read the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s editorial from Nov. 15:

“The count is finished, the total is in: Nancy Pelosi’s health care bill would create a whopping 111 new boards, commissions, bureaucracies and programs.

“That’s not a typo: one hundred and eleven.

“They include everything from the Health Choices Administration – which would make your health choices for you – to the national Medical Device Registry. There would be a ‘No Child Left Unimmunized Against Influenza’ program, a Community Prevention Stakeholders Board – not to be confused, of course, with the Clinical Prevention Stakeholders Board, which should not be confused with the Prevention and Wellness Trust. (Though, of course, it would be.)

“Oh, and the bill also would establish a Telehealth Advisory Committee – not to be confused, of course, with an Indian Youth Telemental Health Demonstration Project.

“Our favorite, in light of all this: ‘the program of administrative simplification.’

“Do Virginia’s two senators and its members of Congress think 111 new bureaucracies is too much, not enough, or just about right.?”

BTW Ruth, you still haven’t actually referenced one of my talking points that you claim I have. Come on Ruth, do it.

Hey brew, if you really think about it you might figure out why I call you Ruth.  Actually you have a better chance of success if you ask someone.

brewer..I know you did not really speak with them..Just trying to add my my bit of spice.  I really not an idiot even some might think that is debatable.

Of course I never spoke to them. I was just trying point out that people can can have an opposing opinion without getting it from Beck, OReilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Cantor,  and or Fox.  It seems a pretty lame argument to dismiss an opinion because you think you know where it came from.

It’s almost like if you don’t agree with the health care bill, or anything else President Obama is pushing, you don’t have a brain of your own.  I am more than weary of that opinion being expressed by left wing bomb throwers.

It’s as bad as being labeled racist by President Carter and others when they have no clue what race I am.

BAck on topic, I have never spoken to any politician above county supervisor face to face.

Did ride a plane on a midnight flight from Atlanta to BWI with Edward Kennedy
back in 78 or 79. He flew cattle car like the rest of us peons, and was pretty unimpressed with himself as I recall. So many old fogies falling over themselves to shake his hand, I decided it best to let him have some peace.

My view of this is that if either of you talked to either of them then all four of you are delusional..Are the inmates running the asylum?????  LOL!!!

Flag Comment Posted by Brewer on November 24, 2009 at 1:55 pm

EL Debibble says I sound delusional,  then starts calling me Ruth?

Flag Comment Posted by El Debibble on November 24, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Hmmm, you admit to talking to Reid and Pelosi yet say that it’s me talking to them???

Come on now Ruth, be a little more specific about what my talking points are.  You haven’t actually mentioned one so how can we know if they came from these people you supposedly talk to when you can’t actually point one out.

El Debibble -  That is precisley what Reid and Pelosi told me last time I talked to them.

You get your talking points from Reid and Pelosi. Stop parroting Reid and Pelosi.

Way to go brew, you went from parroting the right wing whetoric to parroting me to just sounding delusional.  You didn’t make a bit of sense.  There’s no need for us to remeber that.  You prove it nearly every time you post.  You rarely actually post a thought.  You regurgitate some talking points and you never really go below the surface.

I believe I asked you what my talking points were.  Don’t try to generalize them. Be specific.
