New sheriff must be held accountable

Judging from the article "Nice work. You're fired." in Sunday's Star-Exponent, it is manifestly evident that Sheriff Jim Branch is already showing his true colors.
To fire two seasoned officers who have proven that they served above and beyond is not only bad management, it's an affront to all county taxpayers.
Jim Branch seems set on gratifying his own petty agenda rather than serving the people of this county. His actions are an outrage, and the citizens and Culpeper County Board of Supervisors should hold him accountable.
By his spiteful actions, Branch has proven that he is no leader. One has to wonder how the deputies left on the job feel about serving under a person who doesn't even have the moral fiber to face the two ex-deputies and tell them they are fired and why. That is sinking to the very bottom of the barrel and shows a definite lack of courage, strength, fortitude and moral character.
A person who runs for the office of sheriff should embrace two deputies with such outstanding records. The sheriff of this county should be above such juvenile actions and should strive to best serve the citizens instead of perverting the position in order to further his own agenda of spite, all to the detriment of the Sheriff's Office and the citizens.
How can anyone respect the law when it is to be enforced by someone who has exhibited such malicious intentions-
