Payne not plain-spoken; Chase tells it like it is

One reason people admire farmers is because they are plain-spoken people who mean what they say and say what they mean. Harry Truman was once a farmer and embodies this admirable trait.

Dewayne Payne is a very legitimate full-time farmer, but he speaks a very different language than his farming brethren. This is well illustrated by his campaign brochure, which says the following about improving relations between the town and county government: “We must take a collaborative approach embedded in mutual respect to bring about positive change in the best interests of all Culpeper residents.”

I welcome any Culpeper resident to translate this highfalutin’ prose into plain English. Mr. Payne needs to speak in plain English like most farmers do all so well.

Happily, Bill Chase is a blunt and plain-spoken person. This is one of many reasons he should be re-elected as Stevensburg District supervisor.

I’m not sure the target group of you letter actually reads the paper.

I don’t know Mr. Payne, but surely having a good command of the English language should not preclude him from holding office.
