Ryan should recondsider his bigotry remarks

I found Mr. Ryan's interview in Monday's paper to be quite interesting ("Ryan running on experience, desire to serve").
The part I found to be of particular interest is the part where he claims he isn't a bully and is instead running on integrity, just before he calls some of his opponents racists and bigots.
That seems a bit contradictory to me, seeing as how his issue seems to be who we should have no immigration laws and anyone that violates the law should be given a free pass instead of being prosecuted.
However, maybe I simply don't understand his point of view. So as one of those he has denounced as a racist and a bigot, perhaps Mr. Ryan would care to explain himself to me.
What is it about being opposed to people violating our laws by illegally entering and/or remaining unlawfully within the United States that is racist-
Can you explain how asking that these laws be more strictly enforced is a matter of bigotry- After all, as a person running on integrity you should be able to justify why you call other people racists and bigots.
Perhaps you would prefer to simply offer up a public apology instead for your ill-advised comments and in hopes of salvaging some portion of your claim that you are not a bully and that you represent integrity.
