Sewage spill coverage soft on those in charge

As I read Tuesday’s article “Sewage runneth over,” it appears that the municipal organizations and public employees involved in this situation are being “excused” for their failures and lack of appropriate actions in designating this service as critical to the power company. My view is that if this had been a situation involving a private individual or commercial company having set in motion this same scenario, the article would not have seemed so “forgiving.”

My view, Mr. Napier, is that you really don’t understand what actually happened. A storm knocked out the main power supplied by Dominion Power and the emergency generator sustained damage from a lightning strike. Both are acts of God. So why skewer the town or anyone else? It appears that town leaders made some good decisions to get a portable generator until Dominion decided to show up. I guess there isn’t really much for you to worry about in Madison so you decided to Culpeper and meddle.
