This Republican is voting for independent Bill Chase
Published: November 1, 2009
I am a Republican Party activist who will vote a straight party ticket this year, with one exception. I will proudly vote for independent Bill Chase for the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors.
Since the board does not caucus or select leaders based on political party, party labels in these races are insignificant. We should follow the lead of Orange and Madison counties, where all board candidates file as independents.
Bill Chase has a strong record defending conservative principles such as private property rights, free enterprise, limited government and local autonomy. Also, as a West Point graduate and very decorated Army officer during the Vietnam War, he bravely fought the spread of totalitarianism.
Chase is very much in sync with the political principles of the McDonnell-Bolling-Cuccinelli-Scott team and deserves the votes of all genuine Republicans and conservatives.
