Your opportunity to be an angel

Culpeper Social Services will again this year support the Culpeper Christmas Basket Program by displaying our angel tree at the local Walmart store. This tree will be filled with 100 angels to help provide clothing for children in the Culpeper community for Christmas.
Walmart has graciously agreed to help support us with this project and will display the tree in the bakery area. The store will set up the angel tree Nov. 13 and will close out on Dec. 10. All you need to do is drop off your gifts to the Walmart service desk with the angel attached to your donation, and Social Services will pick up these gifts for delivery.
We would like to send a special thank you to everyone for caring about these children during the Christmas season.

Just another example of why I never give money to people holding cans and buckets in front of a store. If I have enough money to make a donation I write a check to the Humane Society.
Apparently it is Sandalwood. The store wouldn’t allow a worthwhile effort, but apparently allowed scam artists to collect money out front, according to today’s article. Someone on that store management team makes poor decisions.
Is this the same tree they were afraid would fall over on somebody when school supplies were needed for poor children?
