Close is best for commonwealth’s attorney position

Gary Close and I started our professional careers in Culpeper about the same time. I first met him when, by coincidence, we had both applied for grant funding to better investigate child sexual abuse complaints.

He struck me then as someone who worked to make Culpeper a better place. After such a positive first experience we worked together to write a grant that created the Options program.

This was followed closely by the creation of the Crime Victim's Assistance program.

Through the years, I have worked with Gary on other projects and problems. He is a team player who easily builds cooperation and trust between people and organizations. I have also watched as he worked to create a professional and modern prosecutor's office in Culpeper. A leader should be judged by the people he brings to work for him. Gary has assembled a staff that is one of the best I have seen in a prosecutor's office. He has my full support and I sincerely urge those who know me to vote for Gary Close.
