Incident in L.A. shows need for help in Culpeper

The recent melee that was instigated by a massive rally of illegal aliens in Los Angeles shows what can happen when you gather a group of people who have no respect for the laws of our country and enter our country illegally.

Some of these demonstrators began throwing rocks and bottles at the police. These items could have been lethal and the police could have been seriously hurt. However, all the police did was disperse them. Even for that, the liberal media criticized the police.

This same kind of thing could happen in Culpeper. Just last year we had the same kind of gathering of illegals who are eager to show their disrespect for the law and for our country.

Once again, this shows the importance of having the Culpeper town police trained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as Councilman Jenkins has been advocating. The police should be trained so that they can properly distinguish the illegals from their legal advocates.

The illegals need to be rounded up and deported. When that is done, we won't have to worry about massive rallies of people who want to demonstrate their disrespect for our country and our laws.

Just the fear of deportation was cited as the cause of canceling a similar rally in Colonial Beach this week. It is high time that we get behind Councilman Jenkins and properly equip our town police to protect our community!
