Jenkins is a nice guy who is also best for sheriff

The Culpeper sheriff's race has two candidates who - by everyone's opinion - are nice guys. They each have about the same years of law enforcement service. I think this is good for our community because we're forced to look past a smile, a handshake and who our friends know.
My first question is, who has done the most in law enforcement and who would other officers want to handle a crime involving their own family-
Scott Jenkins is known to have spent most of his career working Culpeper's major crimes and is respected by peers, attorneys and the court system.
The next question would be, who has supervised officers the longest-
Scott has moved through the ranks and been a direct supervisor over squads and divisions, and he has the most years of experience doing this.
Not just promoted by one man, Scott's been promoted numerous times, by each of the three sheriffs for whom he has worked, including twice by our current sheriff and by the Police Department. He began his career at 18 and has never left law enforcement.
Another important question for the candidates would be, what are their plans for the office-
Scott clearly believes in more officers on the street, at no additional cost, and training above minimum standards.
I didn't know until I started investigating that only 59 percent of the current deputies are trained in basic law enforcement.
Also, Scott continues to look at options for joining with other counties to help with jail costs, different types of construction, and starting work release for inmates.
Scott has opened himself up to random public questions at numerous political forums and welcomes a debate. He has clear and specific goals and gives clear and direct answers.
I feel Scott Jenkins isn't just a nice guy, he's the best candidate for sheriff.
