Jenkins needs to be clear on his plans

As a former resident of Culpeper, I have kept up with the issues involving the county.

Recently, Scott Jenkins has said that for the past year he has taken every avenue possible in opposition to the new jail and the costs associated with it. He has also used a lot of Fauquier County's numbers involving their jail system.

One would assume Mr. Jenkins has spent a lot of time researching this matter, including FOIA requests, attending Board of Supervisor's meetings and traveling to Fauquier at his own expense to obtain these facts.

We all know what happens when we "assume."

Some may not know, the former chief jailer, Lt. Johnny Jenkins, brother to Scott Jenkins, sat on the jail board and contributed to and supported the decisions involving all matters of the jail while he was at the Sheriff's Office.

Johnny is now working for Fauquier in the jail division.
Is this a concidence or is that how Scott obtained all of his information-

And did Johnny, knowing that Scott would run for sheriff, base any of his decisions on how it could help Scott's campaign-

That's obviously not a coincidence since Johnny left the Sheriff's Office after Scott announced his candidacy for sheriff.

Scott has also stated that he plans to put more deputies on the street without any additional costs to the taxpayer. This would be accomplished by reassigning personnel.

Scott has made it known that "grant" positions have been put into place and when the grant funds run out, the county picks up the cost of the position.

It is plain to see that Scott plans to take the DARE officer and the school resource officers out of the schools and place them into patrol.

If this is his plan, which division will suffer by being short-staffed-

If this is not his plan, why doesn't he elaborate on what he is planning rather than skirting the question as to what his plan is.
Do you really want to leave your children vulnerable by removing law enforcement from the schools-
