Medical care at CRH helped wife recover from fall
Published: October 15, 2007
If you are ill or injured - and God forbid you are - the place where you will receive professional care with a big touch of courtesy is at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
My wife experienced a horrible fall from a ladder on Sept. 17 at our home.
Within eight minutes the Culpeper County EMTs arrived. Both Chris Accree and Kelly Hulverson immediately administered first aid, made my wife comfortable, and did so in a calm, professional manner. Then, they transported us both to CRH.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the ER staff picked up where the EMTs left off and called in Dr. Reigel, who in turn assessed the situation and performed surgery that evening.
The MED/SURG staff then took over and administered care for the next three days, which was far beyond our expectations.
Then, Jane Kemp, MSW for CRH, hooked up with Rita Johnson, LSW at Culpeper Health and Rehab, and acquired a space for my wife to continue her rehab. For the next eight days, she received the best rehab Culpeper has to offer.
Stephen Hager and Alissa McCone, along with others, gave my wife a head start on her road to recovery prior to her going home.
We are now at home and she continues to improve daily.
We want to thank eveyone for the cards, flowers, gifts and prayers, especially the crew from the American Legion Post 330 here in Culpeper. Our gratitude and heartfelt thanks goes out to all who touched our lives during her accident.
