Is it really universal health care?
I cannot imagine spending almost $1 trillion to fix a problem and still not fixing it.

HOW I SEE IT: Stand for truth on the abortion issue
On Tuesday, Dr. Laura Granruth wrote about the neglect she feels as a constituent of Republican attorney general candidate Ken Cuccinelli (“Cuccinelli would only continue his crusade”).
OUR VIEW: Funding the State Theatre a long-term gain for town
» If committing $1.5 million in financial backing is what it takes to get the project rolling, go for it.

Chase champions quality of life in Culpeper County
I have known Bill Chase as a close personal friend for 30 years and as a public servant for almost as many.
Payne not plain-spoken; Chase tells it like it is
One reason people admire farmers is because they are plain-spoken people who mean what they say and say what they mean.
Four more years of service
As a lifetime resident of Culpeper County and local businessman, I urge Stevensburg voters to re-elect Bill Chase as their county supervisor.
This Republican is voting for independent Bill Chase
I am a Republican Party activist who will vote a straight party ticket this year, with one exception.
A voice for constiuents
I have known Bill Chase for the past 28 years since his first campaign for Culpeper County supervisor in 1981.
Vote Bob in West Fairfax
I encourage you to vote for Bob Houck as School Board representative for West Fairfax on Tuesday.
Homegrown Houck best choice for School Board
We in the West Fairfax District have a School Board candidate, Robert Houck, who has lived in Culpeper since 1948 and graduated from our school system

Strongly in favor of Chase
As a Culpeper County native and longtime resident (I lived outside the county during my long military career),
Vote the native son: Payne
This letter is in support of Culpeper’s native son, Dewayne Payne, candidate for supervisor in the Stevensburg District.
Payne is not the voice of Stevensburg District
Thank you for Nate Delesline III’s excellent coverage of the County Planning Commission’s 4-3 vote to recommend home eviction for 77-year-old Alice Johnson of the Stevensburg District.
Houck a well-rounded pick for School Board
Bob Houck will receive my vote for the West Fairfax seat on the Culpeper County School Board.
HOW I SEE IT: My take on the Stevensburg BOS race
As the Star-Exponent has pointed out, this year’s most contested local election is for Supervisor from the Stevensburg District. Here are my views.
A closer look at how the town generates and purchases power

Payne for supervisor in Stevensburg District
I support Dewayne Payne Jr. for Stevensburg supervisor.
Money for theater would be better spent elsewhere
In his letter Oct. 18, Mr. White is correct in requesting that the town monies to invest in the State Theatre be put up to a vote by the residents of Culpeper. After all, it is our money and it should be used wisely.
Ed Scott the best choice for House of Delegates
I wish to encourage everyone to support Del. Ed Scott for re-election. I
HOW I SEE IT: Bolling has been a fine lt. governor
A lot of folks have enjoyed using their voices in this newspaper to speak about the negativity of political campaigns and candidates this year, and all the while, they are the ones who are being negative and using unfair and misleading attacks.
For a Halloween scream, dust off those classic scary movies
Yes, Culpeper, I am one of those annoying grownups who still dresses up for Halloween. This year, I will represent a throwback to the ’80s, complete with big hair and fluorescent fishnets. But a large part of my Halloween is always the “cinematic experience.”
