MANASSAS — Culpeper County High School’s football team allegedly was the victim of a theft in Manassas Friday evening.

Someone apparently entered the visitors’ locker room at Stonewall Jackson High School and removed several personal items belonging to Blue Devil players.

According to Patty Carpenter, mother of CCHS player Richard Carpenter, players bags were taken from the lockers sometime between kickoff and halftime.

“The kids lost cell phones, iPods and cash,” Carpenter said. Her son lost approximately $40 in cash.

According to Carpenter, the locker was not locked at the time of the theft.

CCHS head coach Greg Martz gave no comment.

Stonewall Jackson High School acknowledged the theft with a public address announcement asking for persons with information to come forward to Prince William County police that were working security.
