AG candidate Shannon to visit Culpeper Tuesday

Steve Shannon, the state’s Democratic nominee for attorney general, will visit the Culpeper Museum of History Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

About half a dozen local leaders, including attorney John J. “Butch” Davies, are hosting the event, which is open to the public with a suggested $25 donation.

Shannon, 38, represents the state’s 35th District, an area that includes Tysons Corner, in the House of Delegates. He serves on the House Committee on Appropriations; the House Committee on Education; and the House Committee on Agriculture, the Chesapeake and Natural Resources.

A former Fairfax County prosecutor, Shannon serves as special counsel to the law firm of Odin, Feldman & Pittleman. According to his campaign Web site, he was named one of Virignia’s legal elite by Virginia Business magazine in 2007 and 2008.

He is married with three children and graduated fromt the U.Va. School of Law, Georgetown University and Fairfield University.
