Woman only Virginian cited for wearing political clothing to polls

A former sheriff’s office employee who won a court decision against the Madison County sheriff for willfully violating the state’s Freedom of Information Act is being honored by the Virginia Coalition for Open Government.

Stanley M. Rose, accused of attacking a Culpeper woman in her home last year, will face a jury trial this fall. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Dale Durrer said Thursday afternoon the trial is set to begin Sept. 10.

Madison County Sheriff Erik J. Weaver confirmed Saturday that a couple was fatally shot in their Ridgeview Road home late Friday night.
