CCHS, EVHS seasons come to an end

Culpeper County High School’s volleyball team wrapped up its most successful season ever with a 3-0 loss to Courtland in the opening round of the Battlefield District tournament Tuesday night at King George.

Courtland won 25-21, 25-23 and 25-18 to advance to the district championship game.

The Blue Devilettes finished 11-8, topping the school record for victories.

EVHS FIELD HOCKEY: Eastern View High School’s field hockey team traveled to Poquoson on Tuesday for the opening round of the Region I tournament to face unbeaten Tabb, which beat the Cyclones 5-0.

Tabb built a 2-0 lead at halftime before closing out the victory in the second half. Colleen Patterson led all scorers with three goals.

The Tigers, the defending Group AA state champions, advance to the regional championship while Eastern View finishes up with a 13-6 record after qualifying for the regional tournament for the second consecutive year.
