Culpeper National tops East Orange in four-hour game

It took four hours, but the 9-10 Culpeper National softball team beat East Orange 33-23 Sunday in the second round of the District 14 little league tournament.

Summer Valdez led Culpeper National at the plate going 2-for-2 with a three-run home run. Lindsey Rotenberry went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, while Monique Brown finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Shortstop Kinmie Shanks and third baseman Tiana Johnson came up with big defensive plays while starting pitcher Taryn Tertick racked up five strikeouts.
