Approximately 170 kids opened up the summer competitive swimming season at the Culpeper Rec Club pool on Tuesday. The Rec Club Barnstormers hosted the first meet of the season against the Country Club of Culpeper Barracudas.
The Barnstormers fielded a team of 94 young swimmers this year with the Country Club seeing its roster grow to 75. The Rec Club will compete in four more regular season meets and the Country Club six before both teams begin regional and all-star competitions.
