Liberty overwhelms Stonewall Jackson

Liberty 26, Stonewall 0
With running backs Ryan Williams and Damien Thigpen sitting out because of nagging ankle sprains, the Raiders' offense clearly struggled in a 26-0 Cedar Run District loss to the visiting Eagles.
Stonewall (3-2 overall, 0-2 in district), which started out the season 3-0, was outgained by a steadily improving Liberty squad 484 to 197. The difference was more noticeable on the ground where the Raiders were limited to 61 total yards, including 12 in the first half.
With Thigpen and Williams watching from the sideline, Liberty (3-2, 2-0) took control early, scoring on its first three possessions to take a 20-0 first-quarter lead. The Eagles, a perennial Group AA power who are in their first year on the Group AAA level, mixed up their playing call well as they effectively moved the ball through the air and on the ground.
Potomac 39, Osbourn 6
MANASSAS - The Potomac Panthers were superior to Osbourn in all facets of the game Friday night, exerting their wills on offense, defense and special teams.
The Panther defense held the Eagles to 228 yards of total offense and the front seven harassed Osbourn's newly-appointed starting quarterback, Chaz Bates, all night, forcing three interceptions and a fumble.
Potomac (5-0) got it done on special teams as well, recovering a fumbled kickoff return to start the second half, resulting in a score a minute and a half later. They also retained possession on a successful onside kick before the end of the third.
The Panthers made their statement early and often, scoring three times in a span of seven minutes in the first quarter.
Kalokoh started the scoring with a 65-yard interception return on Osbourn's first pass attempt, a sign it would not be an easy night for Bates.
The other two scores came on a 58-yard run by Darius Brent (87 yards on nine carries) and a 67-yard pass from DeAirius Thomas to Abdul Kanneh, putting the Panthers up 19-0 after converting just one extra point attempt.
Osbourn dropped to 1-4 with the loss.
Battlefield 23, Osbourn Park 9
HAYMARKET - Battlefield quarterback Corey Thacker stepped to center stage on Friday. Thacker completed 11 of 16 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns while running for another score as he guided Battlefield to a 23-9 victory over visiting Osbourn Park in a Cedar Run District contest.
Thacker led the Bobcats (4-1, 2-0 Cedar Run) to a 14-9 lead in the first half as he twice connected with senior Erik Patterson (four catches, 91 yards) for touchdowns. After Osbourn Park (1-4, 1-1 Cedar Run) got a 23-yard field goal from junior Patrick Groundwater to take a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, Thacker capped a six-play, 67-yard drive with a 28-yard scoring strike to Patterson for a 7-3 Bobcats lead.
While Thacker was getting Battlefield into the end zone, junior running back Gerald Khosa was helping him get there. Khosa (17 carries, 124 yards) rushed twice for a total of 41 yards on the Bobcats' next possession before Thacker again found Patterson for the score, this time from 29 yards away.
Aaron Lee led the Yellow Jackets as he completed 16 of 29 passes for 157 yards. Junior running back Shawn Khanamuenwai added 105 yards on 25 carries on the ground.
