Several local Little League All-Star teams kicked off their schedules with games this weekend.
11-12 softball
Culpeper National 13,
Gordonsville 0
In 11-12-year-old softball action,the Merinda Cropp led the way for the Culpeper National team. She pitched a no-hitter and Culpeper easily defeated Gordonsville.
Katrina Wright led Culpeper at the plate, slugging two home runs. The team is back in action today against Louisa at East Orange.
9-10 Baseball
Culpeper American 9,
Gordonsville 4
Jacob Settle led the way for Culpeper, pitching five plus innings and limiting Gordonsville to four runs.
Ray Tricarico had a big day at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a double and four RBI.
