‘Idol’ song choices not so groovy for 09

Geez. Idol is all about young people and so why are so many of the songs so old? I can’t take the easy-listening anymore. I’m tired of it and my bones are weary. It’s gotten to the point where I may stop watching Idol.
Last night’s show by the Top 9 was just all right. The theme was Top 40 and there were so many possible songs to chose from. Unfortunately, some of the suckiest songs ever got selected. Still, I liked Adam for the first time; for a white boy, he’s got a little bit of soul. And I love Lil Rounds. But not singing Celine Dion. Too old for you!!!
Danny still has a great voice too, but Rascal Flatts? Hated the song; love the singer. Allison chose a great song with No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak,“ but she was shaky singing it, nervous perhaps. I loved Scott’s Billy Joel hair and the song. His performance? Eh. My favorite was Chris Allen at the piano singing “Ain’t No Sunshine.“ He was in the zone.
