A Culpeper County man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the Kia sedan he was driving crashed into a retaining wall near Culpeper Christian School late Monday night.
Simuel A. Washington Jr., 23, of the 13000 block of Korea Road, is charged with driving under the influence. He was also issued a summons for reckless driving for failure to maintain proper control.
Washington is due in general district court today at 8:30 a.m.
Town spokesman Wally Bunker said the single-vehicle incident occurred around 10:17 p.m. in the 800 block of Old Rixeyville Road near the school.
Bunker said Officer Jeff Dodson investigated. Washington and a 23-year-old female passenger were not injured.
School administrator Mike Owings said he noticed the damage when he arrived to work Tuesday morning. Owings added that he’d notify Ron Musselman, CCS board member — who also owns and operates R.S. Musselman Construction Inc. in Culpeper — about the damage.
Today is the first day of school for Culpeper Christian.
