Two adults and two children were taken to the hospital following a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. 29 in southern Fauquier County.
Sgt. Les Tyler, a spokesman with the Virginia State Police, said the crash occurred around 10:26 a.m. about four-tenths of a mile south of Route 651 in Fauquier County near the Culpeper County line.
Tyler said Jennifer Pullen, 25, of Bealeton was southbound on the highway when she lost control of her vehicle, struck a guardrail, entered the median and continued into the northbound lanes, where the SUV collided with a Ford Ranger pickup.
The truck’s driver, David Manciniak, 34, of Culpeper, Pullen and a 6-year-old and 3-year-old in Pullen’s car were all taken to Fauquier Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Tyler said the children were properly restrained in booster seats and that Manciniak was also wearing a seat belt but Pullen was not.
Fauquier sheriff’s deputies, fire and rescue and state troopers responded to the scene. The northbound lanes of the highway were briefly closed as authorities investigated and cleared the wreckage.
Trooper C.J. Burkes cited Pullen for reckless driving.
