Authorities on Monday arrested a third suspect in a May 24 armed purse snatching in downtown Fredericksburg.
Walter J. Eason, 22, of Culpeper, was arrested around 5:15 p.m. by the Culpeper Police Department, according to Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe.
“They had received information about his possible whereabouts, and they have been working with (Fredericksburg) detectives on this case,” she said.
Eason is charged with two counts of robbery in connection with the incident, which occurred in the 1200 block of Prince Edward Street.
Another Culpeper man, Shaun M. Gatewood, 25, and Andre Liggans, 24, of Fredericksburg, are also accused in the crime.
According to city police, the men are suspected of robbing an 83-year-old woman and her 22-year-old granddaughter.
