»  Comments | Post a Comment

A Culpeper man received minor injuries in an early-morning hit-and-run accident on Thursday.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Corey Byers said that around 2 a.m., the unidentified victim stopped along Dutch Hollow Road about a ¼ mile north of Hawkins Lane, to assist at the site of another vehicle accident.

Byers said the 27-year-old man told authorities that he was standing in the northbound lane attempting to flag traffic to slow down when an oncoming car struck him. The car did not stop and continued northbound on Dutch Hollow Road. A friend took the man to the hospital. His injuries were described as minor.

Byers said the victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the driver, but described the car as small and possibly a Toyota model. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 727-7523.
