Everyone at the Culpeper Literacy Council would like to express our appreciation to the many individuals and businesses in the Culpeper community who helped make our recent fundraiser, “An Evening with Jeannette Walls,” a remarkable success.
Foremost, we thank Jeannette, who made the event possible, captivated our audience with stories about her family and her life, and generously donated all proceeds to the Culpeper Literacy Council. Many thanks to her husband, John Taylor, who was so helpful in planning and organizing interviews and publicity.
We are deeply grateful to Germanna Community College for sponsoring the program and to Pepperberries, Dr. Shannon Butler’s Dental Office and StellarOne Bank for selling tickets. In addition, we appreciate the excellent articles published about the event written by Allison Brophy Champion at the Culpeper Star-Exponent and Anita Sherman at the Culpeper Times. We also thank Tammy Barboza and John Klumpp at Virginia Living Television for their wonderful interview with Jeannette, and Comcast, WJMA radio station, and Culpeper County Public Schools for publicizing the program.
Finally, we thank everyone who joined us for an unforgetable evening with Jeannette Walls. We appreciate your support of literacy in Culpeper County.
