Two people were taken to hospitals Friday afternoon after a three-vehicle wreck on Brandy Road.
State Police spokesman Sgt. Les Tyler said authorities were called to the scene about one mile north of Route 666 around 4:30 p.m.
Tyler said a 2010 Kia Sedan was northbound on Brandy Road when the vehicle slowed for traffic ahead. The Kia was rear-ended by a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The impact caused the Kia to veer into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a semi-tractor, which was not pulling a trailer.
The driver of the Kia was flown to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg; the truck driver was taken to Culpeper Regional Hospital. Their conditions were not available Friday evening.
The driver of the PT Cruiser, Amanda J. Yowell and a passenger in her car were not injured.
Tyler said Trooper S.J. Riddle cited Yowell for following too closely. The road was closed in both directions for about an hour as authorities cleared the scene.
