As Super Bowl Sunday looms and our thoughts turn to wings, commercials and a Giants’ victory, we were thinking of the one thing that leads to a Super Bowl win — teamwork.
That trait was personified during the kickoff of the fourth annual Entrepreneurial Energy competition at Germanna Community College’s Daniel Technology Center this week.
High school students from Culpeper County High School and Eastern View High School teamed with local business leaders to recreate the experience of building a business venture in a competitive environment.
The program is a great way for students to learn first hand from experienced business owners in the community and prepare them for the competitive business world.
“E-Squared is going to improve your ability to beat that competition,” keynote speaker Mike Dale said to the crowd. “At this point in your life, it’s possible that never again will you have so many skilled, intelligent people around you with one thought in mind: your future. You’re never going to be cared for the way you’re being cared for right now. And that’s what E-Squared is proud of.”
We’re proud of the program as well, Mike, and we look forward to hearing all the successes of the participants in the coming months.

Speaking of success, we want to congratulate the C-Red Hot Divas on the success of their popular “Divas and Doctors” calendar.
The calendar helped raise $3,500 for the Free Clinic of Culpeper.
The Divas picked the two hottest days of the year to shoot the calendar with the doctors, squeezing in 12 months worth of photos in a tight time frame as doctors had to get in and get out for their shoots.
The money helps fund operations at the Free Clinic and we’re sure they’re appreciative of the generous donation.
