Virginia State Police on Monday arrested trooper Christopher A. Carson, 29, of Bealeton, on four charges, two of which are related to sexual misconduct with a minor that occurred over 10 years ago before he served with state police.
Carson stands charged with aggravated sexual battery, indecent liberties with a child and two counts of distributing pornography to a minor. He has been on administrative leave since Dec. 27, 2011, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation, according to VSP public information officer Les Tyler.
Tyler said Carson joined the state police in 2005 and since graduating from the academy, has served as a patrolman in Fauquier County.
Carson is being held without bond at the Fauquier County Jail.
