The Culpeper County Board of Supervisors and Culpeper Town Council will hold a public hearing Monday at 6 p.m. at the Daniel Technology Center to receive last-minute citizen input and vote on the long-debated water and sewer deal.
This will be the last opportunity for the public to voice opinions on the slightly modified voluntary settlement agreement before officials vote that night. If passed, county utility customers in designated water and sewer service areas around the town’s boundaries will receive equal access, at the same price, to the town systems.
In turn, the town would expand its geographical borders to include three areas, totaling about 302 acres, which would include the commercial area around Target and Martin’s. This boundary adjustment would take effect June 30 at midnight.
The lengthy agreement also details guidelines for future boundary adjustments and sets a minimum term of 30 years.
There is no preregistration and anyone is invited to speak before the board and council at the meeting.
