A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent counterfeit scheme at Walmart.
Police have also secured additional arrest warrants charging a female clerk at the Culpeper Supercenter with an additional seven felony charges.
Culpeper Police Thursday arrested Christopher Barry Fleming, 29, of Oriole Court in the counterfeit plot involving the passing of more than $6,000 in fake money.
Fleming faces 16 felony counts including possession of counterfeit money, money laundering, uttering counterfeit money and obtaining money by false pretenses.
The alleged transactions happened between Nov. 25 and Dec. 10, according to Culpeper Police Detective Luke Altman.
In December, police arrested Walmart cashier Avery King, 19, on 12 felony charges related to the scheme. Last week, she was charged with an additional seven charges of money laundering.
King, while on the job, allegedly accepted bogus bills from Alayna Leshe Miller, 26, and Fleming. In return, King reportedly activated Walmart Green Dot re-loadable money cards usable for in-store and online purchases, according to a town release.
Following King’s arrest Dec. 14, Miller was charged, and now Fleming with passing counterfeit money.
However, police are still trying to determine if anyone else was involved.
