Football season is almost here again with Monday marking the first day area high school programs can begin tryouts and practice sessions.
Eastern View High School, which will try to build off last year’s 7-3 debut, will get the season started early in the morning with tryouts beginning at 7:30 a.m. and a second session in the afternoon.
Across town at Culpeper County High School, new coach Mike Williams will begin his first practice with the Blue Devils at 5 p.m., but the CCHS staff already got a little bit of a head start by handing out gear earlier in the week and expects a good turnout Monday.
“We started handing out equipment early, on Wednesday and Thursday,’ Williams said.
“We had 60 to 65 come pick it up then and we’ll probably get another 10 or so on Monday. So I am expecting around 75 out this year.”
Other fall sports teams can also begin practice on Monday. Below is a schedule provided by local schools. Please note that some teams chose to begin at a later date and some schedules have not been submitted by schools.
