The tension is mounting as the days count down to Warrior Fighting Championship’s debut show “The Beginning” Saturday at the Reva Fire Hall on U.S. 29 south of town.
All of the bouts have been confirmed, and the fighters who have committed now know where they’ll be facing off for the first time the night before the show.
Saturday’s event has sold out, but fans will still get a chance to meet the local fighters Friday night as Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 763 Nalles Mill Road, just off of Bus. 29, will host weigh-ins Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Weigh-ins for WFC’s shows scheduled for November and December will be held at the same location.
Saturday’s card will feature nine amateur mixed martial arts bout, including a 135-pound championship fight between Daniel “Yeager-Bomb” Yeagley and Sage Thomas.
Eric Zamora, WFC founder and promoter, was unable to secure bouts for Zamora Boxing Gym fighters Daniel Moreno or Gabby Holloway — the current Barbarian Fight Club 145-pound women’s champion. Zamora did say, however, that both fighters have confirmed opponents for November’s show.
The doors for Saturday’s event open at 5 p.m. and the fights begin at 6 p.m. For more information, check out warriorfc.biz.
