Shanks leads Cyclones past Falcons
WARRENTON — Eastern View High School’s girls basketball team made the short trek to Fauquier on Wednesday, and the Cyclones came home with a 39-27 victory.
Taylor Shanks led the way with 16 points. Ciara Jackson finished with nine points, while Shirlena Bowles and Tiara Jackson both finished with four.
The Cyclones (13-5) host Chancellor on Friday.

Cyclones hang on in road win at Fauquier
WARRENTON — Eastern View’s junior varsity girls basketball team also traveled to Fauquier Wednesday night, and the Cyclones came away with a 39-30 victory.
Tiara Jackson led the Cyclones with 17 points. Destiny Williams finished with 10 points, while Jazmyn Minor and Dominique Scott both chipped in with four.
Eastern View (14-2) hosts Chancellor on Friday.

Engh takes gold at Lancer Invitational tourney
MIDLOTHIAN — Jared Engh captured gold and Culpeper County High School’s wrestling team finished second out of 10 teams last Saturday in the Lancer Invitational tournament at Manchester High School.
Culpeper was in first place after two rounds, but Group-AAA Patriot High School pulled away in the finals.
Engh finished first at 132 pounds. Cody Vick won in the consolation round to finish third at 182 pounds, while Jonathan Canon (106), David Counts (120), Dartagnan Dwyer (152), Dakota Brackenridge (195), Wyatt Carroll (185) and Chris Dejarnette (220) all finished in second place.
Andrew McIntyre (113) and Dimitri Dwyer (160) finished fourth.
