The Floyd T. Binns Middle School boys basketball team invaded its cross-town rival’s gym Thursday for the opening round of the 15th annual Culpeper Classic tournament, and the Blackhawks advanced to the second round with a 42-25 victory over Buford.
T.J. Johnson led Binns with 12 points, while Anias Saunders chipped in with 11.
The Blackhawks (14-4) face walker Grant Middle School today at 6 p.m. in the gym at Culpeper Middle School.
The CMS basketball team will also be in action today, as the Cougars take on Caroline at 4:30 p.m. after the Cavaliers defeated King George on Thursday.
The tournament wraps up Saturday at CMS, with consolation games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and the championship at 6 p.m.
