CCHS boys basketball

Blue Devils sweep Foxes

KING GEORGE — Culpeper County High School’s boys basketball team hit the road for a game at King George Friday night, and the Blue Devils topped the Foxes for the second time this season, winning 69-53.

Devonte Deans led the way with 17 points. Mike Kenney finished with 14 points, Nik Stewart added 13 points and Henry Butler chipped in with nine.

Culpeper (10-7 overall, 7-2 Battlefield) return to action Monday in a rescheduled home game against Courtland before hosting district-leading James Monroe on Tuesday.

EVHS girls basketball

Cougars cruise against visiting Cyclones

SPOTSYLVANIA — Courtland High School’s girls basketball finished the season sweep of visiting Eastern Friday night with a 65-33 rout.

Ciara Jackson led the Cyclones with 12 points, while Lauren Brewer chipped in with nine and Allison Corry added five.

Eastern View (11-5, 6-3) hosts Caroline Tuesday.

Madison boys basketball

Ford leads Mountaineers past Panthers

RAPPAHANNOCK — Madison County High School’s boys basketball team made the short trip to Rappahannock Friday, and the Mountaineers topped the Panthers, 75-29.

Bobby Ford led the Mountaineers with 11 points, while Travis Warren, Matt Temple and Nick Paxton all finished with 10.

The Mountaineers (11-8) host Central (Woodstock) on Monday.

Liberty girls basketball

Eagles stretch winning streak to 17 games

BEALETON — Liberty High School's girls basketball hosted Evergreen District foe Brentsville Friday night, and the Eagles came away with a 59-15 victory.

Liz Wood led the Eagles with 20 points and nine steals. Bri Croushorn finished with 11 points and nine rebounds, Aubri Crummett added eight assists and five steals and India Turner chipped in with 11 points and five steals.
